My Slow Cooker Chili

INGREDIENTS

  • 1lb Ground Beef
  • 1 can or bottle of beer (you can substitute beef broth)
  • 1 can diced red tomatoes
  • 1 can Rotel Diced Tomatoes with Green Chile
  • 1 packet of McCormick Chile Seasoning
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 chopped jalapeño (optional)
  • 1 can kidney beans (optional)
  • 1 white onion, diced
  • 2 clove minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

CROCK POT DIRECTIONS

Cook ground beef in a skillet until no longer pink
Add all ingredients to your crock pot and cook on low for 4 – 6 hours

STOVE TOP DIRECTIONS

Brown ground beef, onion, garlic and whatever peppers you choose to use over medium heat, breaking up the ground beef into small chunks with a wooden spoon.  Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 45 minutes.

Options

1 can Rotel Diced Tomatoes with Green Chile instead of plain diced tomatoes to add a little spice

Serve with cornbread or over spaghetti

Top with shredded cheddar, sour cream and/or green onion

Add a chopped green pepper in place of jalapeno for a chunkier, less spicy option

Note:  The crockpot method doesn’t add anything here.  It’s just an option that would allow you to dump ingredients, set it and forget it.  But this is just as good if you do it on the stove.
