It’s That Time of Year

Yep. You’ve guessed it. There are green things on the bushes and trees. It always feels like a such a turning point. Love it! Yesterday was mostly beautiful with temps in the upper 70s. We did some yard work and, of course, grilled. Ldub had his first track meet of the year and Tdub cheered him on.

As you know, our new home includes the regular sound effects of a nearby rooster. I’m sure that to people who’ve grown up in the country, these types of details are meaningless. I’m not gonna lie. You’re dad and I are still stunned and fascinated by things like this even though we’ve lived here for eight years now. This is the sight that has greeted us after turning into our community for the past two weekends.

These are large, healthy looking chickens and roosters. Why are they there, and can they find their way home if they need to? Did they escape? I don’t know the answers to these questions, but these are the type of things that we see here that still make us stop the car and take a picture. I mean, we lived in Hilliard for 17 years and I don’t remember ever seeing a squirrel in our yard.

The boys are back in town. And by that, I mean it’s baseball season. I like this team a lot. I hope they stay healthy and do well. GG, J and Tdub will be visiting next weekend. We’re excited to see everyone.

I’m currently reading some sort of post-apocalyptic survival novel. While entertaining, these books always make me want to stock up on protein bars and canned goods. I’m joking, but also not
