We are currently on day four of a five day weekend. It’s been lovely. We started out on Thursday with temperatures in the low 80’s. We went to the Reds game vs. the White Sox. So much fun. Not only did the Reds win, but we got to see Elly De La Cruz hit a homer which was pretty special. After the game we headed to Jeff Ruby’s. These are famous restaurants locally. They’re pricey. Fortunately our realtor’s office is across the street from one of them and gift cards are her go-to gift for clients. Our steaks were wonderful, but the highlight of the meal was the bread. Sad. But we haven’t had bread in six months so it was a treat.
The rest of our long weekend has been spent on house projects. We created a new bed that circles our patio. It looks awesome. This was a three day project because it’s a big bed and we’re old. We worked on our front beds last week adding river rock at the downspouts. We cut our cable line during the process. Not our best moment. S rigged it back together with some duct tape so we had cable and internet, but we had to have the company come out and replace it. We also power washed many things and tomorrow we’re replacing the lights next to our garage. The builder lights are cheap and ugly.
The kids are almost done with school for the year. Tdub has had an awesome year. Ldub recently attended prom with his longtime girlfriend and this past week he had two personal best times in track. Today is dad’s birthday. I can’t believe he’s been gone for 8 years. I wish he could have known the boys. I know he would have been proud of them.
Jdub and I have been reading The Empyrean series. Good stuff!
