INGREDIENTS (makes 4 sandwiches)
8 Slices sour dough, rye or better yet, sour dough rye bread.
4 slices Colby or Cheddar cheese
4 slices Havarti cheese
One bunch green onion, chopped
On a cutting board or wax paper, lay out your slices of bread
Spread Hellman’s mayo on one side of each slice
Flip 4 slices over so mayo side is down
Add your cheese slices
Sprinkle liberally with green onion
Top with remaining slices so mayo sides are the outer pieces
Heat a skillet to medium
Add your sandwiches and grill until nicely browned on each side
Note: Serve with Campbell’s tomato soup. You can also switch this up by adding bacon, tomato or deli ham slices to your sandwiches prior to grilling. Do not use butter to fry your sandwiches. Hellman’s is SO much better. I also highly recommend ALWAYS using the green onion. I gives just a little added pop of flavor and texture that is amazing.
