What’s new in the “Almost Country”, you ask? Well, it’s hard to believe it’s almost football time again. S & I went to the Bengals practice last weekend. It was HOT. Joey B had his appendix out a few days prior so he wasn’t there which was kind of a bummer, but it was fun.

Tomorrow is GG’s birthday. I am driving up to take her her gifts and visit for a while. I have a four day weekend. Yay me! S only has a 3 day weekend because I basically have to nag him repeatedly to get him to take a day off, and heaven forbid he takes two.

I am in reading nirvana. I have found an author I love and I am reading everything she’s written. Kristin Hannah. Every book is awesome. Let me again say how wonderful the library is. I’m gonna be honest. I had forgotten. Free books! And, unlike in 1984, you can browse the catalog online and just click a button to reserve them. Sometimes modern technology is wonderful.

I paid off our car today. All part of that “get debt free so I can retire” plan.

Work is a shit show. That’s my favorite phrase of 2022 by the way.

Let’s see…. This weekend we’re having a community garage sale. I’m excited about it. It’s not really any grand plan to make money. It’s more about getting rid of things so they don’t end up in a landfill. You know how you have those things that you don’t use, you want to get rid of, but you don’t want to throw away? We have compiled some things like that in the past five years that I am hoping someone else will want.

What am I cooking this weekend? Well thanks for asking. Tomorrow I am making carne asada and Saturday I am making wings on the grill. I am a grillin’ fool!
