I’m up early having my coffee and thought I would put down a few words. Four more inches of snow. Mother nature better give me an early spring after putting up with these shenanigans.

On the bright side, and because we’re us, we grilled yesterday. You know it’s a bad winter when a day that’s 32 and sunny seems like a heat wave!

In other news, it’s football playoff time. This is the first year of the new, 12 team, college football playoff system. The Ohio State Buckeyes have made it to the National Championship Game where they will face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Very fun. The NFL playoffs started yesterday, and while they sadly do not include our Bengals, they are still fun to watch. I am rooting for a Detroit vs. Buffalo Superbowl because I would like to see a team that has never won take home the championship.

JDub got us some little binoculars for Christmas. They’re so fun. Yesterday S braved the many inches of snow to refill our bird feeder and it was like a party in our yard. We had cardinals, blue jays, doves, robins, a red-headed wood pecker, chickadees and squirrels. They were all hanging out together having a good time.

Only one more house to frame on our street and then we’ll be in the home stretch of construction. It will be nice to be done with the mud and noise. I feel sorry for our neighbors. Their house was finished a day or two before the big snow. I’m sure they must be close to moving in. The builder did clear their driveway after the first , big snow, but it’s snowed again since and the temps are supposed to go down to single digits again this week. Haven’t seen them yet, but they have to be close to moving in. Not a fun time to be moving for sure.
