In non-pandemic news, we are on a mini vacation which has been wonderful so far. S got a new Weber grill (so pretty) with the pandemic stimulus money that many Americans received. We’ve been grilling every day. Today we tested out a recipe for grilled chicken wings and grilled sweet potatoes. Yes! Grilled sweet potatoes. So good and super easy. Also so much less mess than using the stove. We swore by charcoal for years, but our new grill is a gas grill. We decided to shelve our charcoal grill for a while. Charcoal is expensive and the time for the grill to heat up + the clean-up is a pain.
The weather is weird. The high today was 72 which didn’t occur until about 6PM. S & I walk/jogged this morning and it was maybe 56 degrees. Very odd for mid-June, but nice for jogging. I think the high yesterday was only 70. Back up to 80 and above starting tomorrow. I’ve lost five pounds in quarantine. It’s so awesome having that two extra hours in my day that would otherwise be spent in a terrifying commute down I-71. I try to work on my arms every day. I HATE having cellulite on my arms!
I am reading a new trilogy by Joe Abercrombie called The First Law Trilogy. I’m only about 200 pages in, but I like it so far. It was another Goodreads find – very highly rated on the Fantasy lists. I’m also watching a series that’s a spin-off of Grey’s Anatomy called Private Practice. It’s not as good as Grey’s, but hey – ninety days at home. There’s only so much to do with no baseball, etc. There’s still hope for baseball, but it would only be 50 – 60 games. Lame!
