This winter is never-ending and it’s not even February. After our more than foot of snow, I mentioned in the prior post, we have now had many days with single digit temps that felt like anywhere from 10 to 15 below zero with windchill factored in. There were 4 inches of snow in Myrtle beach, a dusting in Mexico, a couple inches of snow in Florida and an astounding 10 inches in New Orleans. California is on fire. There seem to be big wildfires there every year, but this year it’s really bad, and instead of being mostly contained to forested areas it’s in a lot of residential areas. Some areas there look like a warzone where someone dropped a bomb. Crazy stuff.
In other news, The Ohio State Buckeyes won the National Championship in fairly dominating fashion. Remember the name Jeremiah Smith. 2024 freshman receiver who was 18 years old for most of the season. One of the best receivers I have ever seen. He could be a #1 receiver in the NFL next season if he was old enough to get drafted. Just wow….
Tomorrow are the AFC and NFC Championships with Kansas City vs. Buffalo and Philly vs Washington. After the Superbowl it seems like a long wait for baseball.
On Monday our 47th President, Donald Trump, was sworn in. Here’s to hoping he does a good job.
Now that you have a round-up of the latest news to look back on in the future, I will share the wierdest/coolest photo I saw in the news this week. These are fireflies lighting up the ground in Chile. Yes. You read that correctly. These are bugs. WTF? Cool, right?
