Happy New Year

Today is the last day of our Christmas vacation. It’s been awesome. We really needed the break. GG and the Dubs same for our family Christmas on Saturday. It was a lot of fun. The kids seemed to love their presents as did the adults. I think our favorite gift was, oddly enough, wine.

On Monday we met Suey, the Dubs, Aunt Kay, Molly and Dave at Roosters. That was also very fun. Today we’re watching the college football playoffs. Ohio State is currently up on #1 Oregon 41 – 15. The Bengals wrap up the season on Saturday with a game against the Steelers. I say wrap up the season because they’ve been pretty bad this year. I shouldn’t say “they”. “They” haven’t been bad. The defense has been horrible. Joe Burrow and Ja’maar Chase have been outstanding. They have had the best year of their careers. Burrow would be the sure MVP if the defense wasn’t like a wet paper bag. Chase is likely going to achieve the triple crown for receivers by leading in touchdowns, catches and yards. They’ve lost 4 games where they have scored over 30 points and two others where they scored 27 and 28. It’s not even like we can claim a bunch of injuries. The defense has just been that bad. The kicking game has also lost us at least two games, if not 3.

Our Christmas celebration day was nice, almost 60. Now it’s freezing with snow and really cold weather in the forecast. One thing that has been lovely is that our creek has been full and flowing with little waterfalls which is SO cool. I can’t wait until spring when we can do our landscaping. S and I are trying to eat healthy again and stop the madness. Although we ate what we wanted on Christmas. Eighteen months to put it on, eighteen to take it off I suppose…

8 weeks until March. When the forecast is for highs in the teens for over a week, that is what I tell myself.

XOXO
