In my last post I mentioned that I had begun reading the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb. Oh my Gosh! So so good. Hobb’s novels include multiple trilogies in the same world. The first trilogy is the Farseer Trilogy. Next comes the Liveship Trilogy with an entirely different set of characters. The next trilogy, Tawny Man, takes us back to the original characters. And you guessed it, the fourth returns to chronicle the Liveship Trader adventures. Finally you get the final Farseer trilogy, Fitz and the Fool. Wow! I can’t begin to express how much I loved these books. Due to an Amazon mis-click, I actually haven’t read them in the proper order so I finished the Farseer trilogy before the Tawny Man set of books. This series has been amazing. It may be my new all time favorite. The best part is that unlike some of my other favorites, this author seems to actually FINISH things.
I’ve been researching popular book sites and blogs to choose what to read next after finishing whatever I’m reading. Hobb’s books were always ranked among the top fantasy series of all time, and they did not disappoint. Now I’m on to a similarly researched choice – Gentleman Bastards. I’m about 200 pages into book one. Loving it so far, and I am so glad. Leaving the world of Fitz and the Fool was like losing a friend.
