I looked up and realized that I hadn’t posted anything in months. I was doing so well. Sigh.
The Reds made the playoffs. Sadly they had to play the Dodgers, who were the eventual winners and got swept, but it was nice to see them in there. It came down to the very last game of the season and was all very dramatic.
Today is the last day of the NFL regular season. I have basically missed the entire NFL season in my posting. What does that say about me? Anyway, Burrow got hurt in week two so the Bengals were terrible. He returned on Thanksgiving Day for a total thrashing of Lamar Jackson and the Ravens which was definitely the high point of the season, but it’s all been too little, too late. After starting 2-0, the Bengals went 1-8 without him. Hendrickson was also out all year so that was 25 million well spent.
We did a family fantasy football league this year which was fun. S defeated NDub in the championship game by a small margin. In my opinion, JDub had the best team. Unfortunately she had Lamar Jackson who was either injured or bad for most of the regular season. Somehow, they still have a chance to win the division today after starting 1-5. (Our division was terrible this year). The Chiefs are also not in the playoffs for the first time in a long time. The best teams in football are probably New England and Seattle.
OSU was the #1 team in college football until the conference championship where they lost to #2 Indiana. (Yes. Indiana is very good). They then preceded to lose to Miami in the playoffs. The teams left are Indiana, Miami, Old Miss and Oregon. Weird right? No Alabama. No Georgia. No Ohio State or Michigan. No Clemson. Obviously I was rooting for OSU, but I kind of love that the champion is going to be someone different.
We hosted family Christmas last week. We decided to serve breakfast. It was yummy. Although the weather in December was mostly terrible, we did get a reprieve just after Christmas where we had multiple days over 50 and one day that was nearly 70. LDub just turned 18. Holy shit! Where does the time go?
Today is the last day of our holiday vacation. Back to work tomorrow which sucks. Dad and I have been doing some online workout videos because it’s mostly been too cold to walk. He calls it “Our Dance Routine” which is hilarious in and of itself. A coworker has convinced me that we need to try a cruise and we are strongly considering that. I really want one that included Croatia because I think docking at King’s Landing would be very cool!
